Enhanced Care Tools - Mar 20, 2010 |
Today, we launched a new look and new tools that make caregiving easier and more effective. The new tools allow caregivers to share emergency information, keep track of medications, manage groups of chronic conditions, and record notes for individual conditions, if these change. These enhancements will help healthcare professionals provide better treatment, while saving caregivers time. Our new look is a gift from the design professionals at Ion Branding and Design. They’ve stripped away everything that was unnecessary, so the goal of easier, better care is clearer and easier to achieve. Family Medicine Forum 2009 - October 29, 2009 |

The Care Tools sparked interest amongst Canadian family physicians at their annual scientific conference. Over 2000 members attended the conference to gain knowledge and tools to improve their family medicine practice. The Care Tools' presentation was particularly relevant for physicians seeking to enable their patients to be active, informed and engaged partners in care. Of particular interest were The Care Tools' capabilities to focus on patient needs, track patient conditions between visits, monitor treatments and save physicians time.

One Good Idea - 2009 Winner - August 11, 2009 |

The Care Tools has won the 2009 One Good Idea competition sponsored by Vancouver-based Ion Branding + Design.
This award recognizes ideas which promote sustainability which, in this case, is the sustainability of caregivers at home and our health care system. The award is worth $25k in design services.
The Care Tools and Ion Design will work together over the next year to build awareness about and use of The Care Tools. Our goal is to dramatically change the way that people think about and engage in health care, and to make care at home easier and better.

New Name - Better Care - March 24, 2009 |

We're pleased to announce that we've expanded the care tools and changed our name.
The care tools can now be used by almost anyone with a chronic illness, and their families, to make care easier and better. Our new name reflects this broader scope, and we look forward to helping those with diabetes, cancer, strokes and other conditions to live better lives.
Along with the expansion, we've enhanced our Care Receiver profile to encompass more conditions and abilities. We've also simplified printing Records; it now takes takes just 2 clicks. This will make it easier to share records with health professionals, which is a springboard to better consultations, treatment monitoring and care.
